8/23/10: My New Crocheted Baby Jacket and Giveaway Project Update

Don't you worry, I am still planning on sharing with you the process of making the giveaway prize. I will be showing you the supplies, sources, and techniques I use to make rosaries and I may even show you a quick tutorial on how to make a small rosary bag for storing a rosary in a purse. Very handy! I just need to find some free time with a camera; not something that's always easy for me. :D

In the meantime, I wanted to show you my latest creation. I just finished crocheting a baby cardigan using the Mini Jean Jacket pattern designed by Cal Patch. 8/16/10: We All Love a Giveaway --- Winner Announcement!

My first ever giveaway ended last night and now it is time to announce the winner. I placed all the entries on scraps of paper, combined them in a hat, and had my sister select. So I am happy to say that the winner is. . .

8/7/10: We All Love a Giveaway

A couple weeks ago I was googling some sewing information and came across a site called WeAllSew.com. It is a sewing website created by Bernina and is updated weekly with online sewing material geared towards the sewing and quilting enthusiast. It includes Free Stuff!, Sew to Serve, Favorite Facebook Finds, Favorite Sewing Blogs, and Favorite Videos. This week, starting Friday, August 6, my St. Gemma's blog is being featured in their Favorite Sewing Blogs section. Yay! Thanks We All Sew for adding me to your list this week!

For all the new visitors that are coming here through We All Sew, well, I have something monumental to bring you. My first ever Giveaway. I've been dreaming of doing one for months and now I am finally going to make it a reality. I read many sewing blogs faithfully, some of which have a giveaway almost every two weeks, so I'm very excited to have the shoe on the other foot. :D

The winner of the Giveaway will be receiving one of these three items. . .
1. A quilted set of potholders made by me, in a color scheme of his/her choice. The finished potholders will look similar to these:

2. A glass pearl rosary made by me.

The winner chooses the color, the medal, and the crucifix.

3. Or one of these cute amigurumi dolls (Japanese crocheted dolls), that were featured in Crochet Today magazine.

8/5/10: Cherry Red Potholders

I don't do a whole lot of quilting so I consider it a treat when I'm able to browse the fabric scraps I have and do some patchwork. I've been mending clothes lately--not my favorite thing in the world--so I was in desperate need of a sewing treat!
