5/12/11: Inspirational Clippings

Can this be? Is it really already after 1 o'clock in the afternoon and not a new post to be seen? Sorry for not posting earlier today, I had an enormous to do list on Wednesday and wasn't able to do any blog writing. That's what happens when it is the middle of May and there is a fruit/vegetable farm to plant!

Since it is late, I will be doing something a little easier for myself this time so I will be able to post ASAP. I will be putting together a group of inspirational handcrafted creations that I've been eying on the blogs I read, Ravelry, Etsy, and BurdaStyle. (I visit these blogs and sites a couple times each week so I have an endless amount of great pieces to share.) I hope they will result in a broadening of your creativity!

Julie from Little Cotton Rabbits has been crocheting this fresh and bright afghan she is calling the "One-a-day" afghan. She tries to work on this afghan everyday and spend that crocheting time finding things to be thankful for. What a beautiful idea!

Sarah Francis from The Arboretum blog finished her Endellion Shawl last week. She says, "The Endellion shawl is a hybrid project - a garter stitch centre, based on the centre to the Multnomah Shawl by Kate Flagg, and then crocheted flowery edging based upon the edging to the Midsummer Night's Shawl by Lisa Naskrent." I don't often find projects that incorporate both knit and crochet--very different and eye catching! 

Mydear, a member of Burda Style, made her very own fabric rosette necklace. She even shows how she did it on her blog here.

 Sanne Kalkman, a member of Burda Style, joined a Sew Weekly challenge where the sewers had to sew an apron and a black dress (Burda pattern) to make the apron "pop". She did the apron, yes, but she had a specific dress in mind and decided to draft her own. Here is what she created:

I have a fondness for fabric flowers and this Etsy shop is devoted to just that. You can have a bit of Spring any day of the year! Look at this stunning example from the Petal Mix shop:

Wish I had this pair of quilted potholders handy when I made some apple pies last Tuesday! That potholder text is so true for this cook. :) 

If I were to begin another sweater I would choose Audrey in Unst. This sweater has caught my eye ever since its debut in Twist Collective. Look at these Ravelry members' Audreys:

I just can't get over the amount of inspiration that can be found from these four sources (blogs, etsy, burda style, and ravelry). It looks like you never can run out of ideas!
